Mary M.  Yeager (Yerger)
Mary M. Yeager, 94, of Muhlenberg Twp., beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Rittenhouse Senior Village. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles W. Yeager, who died September 22, 2007. They were married for over 63 years.
Mary was born in Hamburg, December 30, 1923, she was the youngest daughter of the late Amos K. and Helen (Bender) Yerger. Mary was a 1942 graduate of Hamburg High School and later in life took accounting courses at Penn State Berks. She worked as an accountant for many years at the former Diener Knitting Mills, Leesport.
She was an active member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, Riverview Park, for over fifty years and served on various committees. Mary was an avid camper and enjoyed various crafts. In her later years, she enjoyed reading The Reading Eagle from cover to cover, watching Family Feud on TV and doing word searches. She was well known for her warm smile and pleasant disposition. She will be greatly missed by her family, caregivers and friends.
Mary is survived by a son: Glenn A. Yeager, husband of Linda L. (Hess) Yeager, Muhlenberg Twp.; three grandchildren: Melissa Yeager, Benjamin Yeager, husband of Margaret (Bailey) Yeager, and Andrew Yeager, husband of Renee (Robinson) Yeager; and six great-grandchildren: Mallory Quaintance, Ashley Yeager, Charles Yeager, Calvin Yoder, Avery Yeager and Evan Yeager. She was predeceased by her daughter: Susan M. (Yeager) Reed; four brothers: Ralph, Arlan, Lawrence and Ray Yerger; and two sisters: Evelyn Yerger and Thelma (Yerger) Madenfort.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Tuckerton. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Saturday 10:15 to 11:00 am.
