Russell P. Swavely, 70, of Centre Twp., passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Ronald and Joan (Rissmiller) Swavely. He was the loving husband of Debra L. (Price) Swavely for 43 years.

Russ was a proud 1974 graduate of Reading High School. He worked 26 years for JC Ehrlich's lawn care division, and he owned and operated Swavely's Lawn and Turf Care, Inc. since 2002. Russ was a hard worker who loved his job and enjoyed working with his customers. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading, serving on Church Council.

In addition to his wife, Russell is survived by his son, Kyle Swavely; daughter, Lauren (Swavely) Bidwell; and one cherished granddaughter, Evelynn Bidwell. He is also survived by six siblings, Robin Daub, Jeffrey Swavely, Michael Swavely, Karen Sites, Christopher Swavely, Marsha Cammarano, and was predeceased by brother, James Swavely.

A celebration of Russell's life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 am at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, with a service to follow.
