Barbara A. (Blatt) Rickenbach, 76, of Upper Bern Twp., died Friday December 19, 2014 in her residence. She was the wife of Dennis F. Rickenbach, died August 22, 2014.
Born in Bernville, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Hannah C. (Zimmerman) Blatt Bashore. Barbara worked for Fein & Glass Shoe Factory, Bernville for 12 years, March Sportswear Inc., Edenburg for 15 years, and Glob Underwear Mill, Shoemakersville for 13 years, retiring in 1998. Following her retirement, she was a crossing guard in Shartlesville for 8 years. Barbara enjoyed yard work and going to carnivals and parades. She enjoyed being outside.
Barbara is survived by one daughter: Hannah P. Schade, companion of David Hoke, Shartlesville; and one son: George H. Schade, and his wife Debbie; one step-daughter: Patricia A. (Rickenbach), wife of Christopher Kissinger, Shoemakersville; one step-son: Kevin L. Rickenbach, and his wife Denise, Hamburg. Barbara is also survived by four grandsons: Randy Rickenbach, Logan Rickenbach, Ryan Konnick, and Justin Schade; two granddaughters: Lauren Flamm and Kassandra Hoke; two great-grandsons: Ogden and Ian; and three step-sisters: Linda, Sandra, and Cindy. She was predeceased by a son: Michael L. Schade, and her step-father Arthur T. Bashore.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg, PA 19526 (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Bernville. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
