IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard B.
Dierwechter
February 25, 1967 – January 29, 2026
Richard B. Dierwechter, 58, of Tilden Twp., passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center after a courageous and brave 10 year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Michele M. (Bailey) Dierwechter. They were married September 30, 1989 and celebrated 36 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Patricia A. (Fry) Dierwechter, Hamburg, and the late Dale B. Dierwechter. Rich graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1986. He worked for 33 years at East Penn Manufacturing before retiring in 2019. Rich was a car enthusiast; he owned a 1967 RS/SS Camaro, and a 1972 Corvette, which he loved to drive around town and take to Heislers. He was an avid collector of slot cars and enjoyed creating and building his own. He was happiest when spending time with his wife, Michele, and daughter, Brittany, and believed strongly that taking care of them was his "life's purpose." He treasured trips to Seaside Heights, NJ and trips to Disney World, and always made sure he was there for his family. Rich also collected Coca Cola memorabilia, loved to decorate the outside of his house for the holidays, and was a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. He always enjoyed afternoons floating in his pool. After a long day, Rich's favorite way to end the day was a large bowl of ice cream, almost every night! He is remembered as a kind, gentle, patient, and quick witted person. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need and could fix anything.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother is a daughter: Brittany P. (Dierwechter) Wanamaker, wife of Jake, Emmaus; a brother: Joey L. Dierwechter, husband of Michelle, Hamburg; his mother in law: Del A. (Shollenberger) Hollenbach, Hamburg; and many other well loved extended family members. He is also survived by his cherished canine companion: Kona, and his granddog: Tango.
