Dad, I want to express my deepest condolences on the loss of your father. I know that for a long time your relationship was strained because of past transgressions, but you took the high road, and the difficult road of forgiveness. Marianne Williamson said, “Forgiveness is not always easy. At times, it feels more painful than the wound we suffered, to forgive the one that inflicted it. And yet, there is no peace without forgiveness." I hope that you can feel at peace knowing that your father left his earthly body with the peace that you granted him through the power of forgiveness. The endless compassion that you and Mom showed him while caring for him, especially during the last year, which you selflessly provided, is just one example of your love, devotion, and compassion. I have no doubt that Grandfather was able to take that with him. We grow as human beings, through our experiences and through our desire to improve upon the example(s) that we were provided. As a result, you were a better father to me than I could ever have hoped for. Your love and guidance were a gift that I never can repay, and I have no doubt that I would not be who I am today had you not entered my life. You gave me more than you ever received; you overcame your past, turned the page, and wrote a new chapter, not only for me, but for your family. I love you and I am here for you during this difficult time, Judith
