Obituary for Shirley M. Kline (Berns)
Shirley M. Kline, 86, formerly of Reading and Mohrsville, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the wife of Elwood Kline, who died August 26, 1986.
Born in Reading on July 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late George W. Berns, Sr., and Lillian M. (Bowers) Berns. She was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Reading.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Shirley is survived by her children: Randy K. Kline, companion of Jennifer Frees, Mohrsville; and Candy M. Strauss-Sell, wife of Jack Sell, Leesport; three grandchildren: Ashley Strauss, Matthew Strauss, and Anastasia Frees; and one great-granddaughter: Avery Renner. She is also survived by a brother: Robert Berns, Lititz; and a number of nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her siblings: George W. Berns, Jr., Ruth Kerchner and Catharine Heist.
Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Bernville.
