Obituary for Sherwood F. White

Sherwood F.  White
Sherwood F. White, 83, of Windsor Twp., died Thursday, February 19, 2015 in Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. He was the husband his beloved wife Bernice (Green) White. Sherwood and Bernice met and were married in England.
Born in Laureldale, he was the son of the late Wilbur W. White and Blanche R. (Ritz) Blair. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Hamburg. He attended Muhlenberg high school until the 12th grade. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a specialist in the US Army Security Agency for 13 years. Sherwood was later employed at Brush Wellman as a millhand for 26 years, retiring in 1992.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two children: a son, Christopher White, California; and a daughter, Hilary E. White, Harrisburg; two grandchildren: Nathan J. White, and Aurora I. White; and two great-grandchildren: Aaidan J. White and Abigail N. Belmonte. He is also survived by two brothers: Barry L. White, Upper Bern Twp., and Gary L. husband of Barbara A. White, Schuylkill Haven; three sisters: Doris J. (White) Slonaker, Blandon, Gladys D. (White) Schearer, Blandon, and Rose M. White, Upper Bern Twp, and a step-brother: Dennis Blair, Laureldale. Sherwood was predeceased by as son: Adrian J. White, died 1991.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday February 25, 2015 at 5:30 PM from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (Off Street Parking in Rear). A visitation will be held in the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Bethany United Methodist Church Memorial Fund P.O.
