Obituary for Ruth M. Seip (Gibson)
Ruth M. Seip, 91, of Blandon and formerly of Ontelaunee Twp., passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Penn State Health-St. Joseph. She was the wife of Warren R. Seip. They were married on February 19, 1949 and celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Ontelaunee Twp., she was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Jenny B. (Kramer) Gibson. Ruth graduated from Ontelaunee Vocational School and was second in the class. She also graduated from Bryland Beauty School. Ruth first worked as a beautician and then worked as a packer for Diener's Knitting Mill. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport, where she had been a choir member. Ruth was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Women's Club of Leesport. She enjoyed sewing, baking and cats.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons: Randall W. Seip, and his wife Denise, New Hanover Twp., Montgomery Co.; Richard L. "Rick" Seip, PhD, and his wife Cindy, Wethersfield, Connecticut; and Robert D. Seip, and his wife Janice, Montgomery, Alabama; one daughter: Renee D. (Seip), wife of Kevin Lenning, Spring Twp.; eleven grandchildren: Megan, Matthew, Paul, Kelsey, Linley, Evan, Ashton, Robert II, Brendan, Sonja, and Tamara; and six great-grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by her siblings: Irene, William, Ira, Elwood, Annie, Esther, Luther and Edna.
Services will be on Friday at 1:30 pm from Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 102 Apple Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Leesport Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the church Friday 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, P.O. Box 221, Leesport, PA 19533.
