Obituary for Ronald E. Oswald Sr.

Ronald E. Oswald, Sr., 76, of Bern Twp., passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in his residence. He was the husband of Anna M. (Manwiller) Oswald. They were married on November 19, 1960 and celebrated fifty-four years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late George Oswald and Alice (Strausser) Oswald Manwiller. Ronald was a 1956 graduate of Perry High School. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. Ronald first worked as an accountant and then worked for the Reading Eagle Company for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the Phillies. Ronald had a mind for business and enjoyed talking about numbers.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Ronald E. Oswald, Jr., and his wife Cathy, Bernville; and Robert E. Oswald, West Hamburg; two daughters: Bonnie A. (Oswald), wife of George Schaeffer, Exeter Twp.; and Cindy M. (Oswald), wife of Kenneth Labe, Jr., Friedensburg, Schuylkill Co.; and four grandchildren: Brittany, Amanda, and Olivia Labe; and Tori Oswald. Ronald is also survived by one brother: Edward Oswald, and his wife Barbara, Schuylkill Co. He was predeceased by two sisters: Shirley Oswald and Gladys Mayer.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Laureldale Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Tuesday 12:30 to 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Greenfields Fire Company, 2339 Bernville Road, Reading, PA 19605, in memory of Ronald E.
