Obituary for Richard J. Schell

Richard J. Schell, 85, of Tilden Twp., passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 in his residence. He was the husband of Louanna M. (Jones) Schell. They were married on December 19, 1953 and would have celebrated sixty-four years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Earl, Sr. and Anna (Adams) Schell. Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for Pepsi until his retirement. Richard loved camping, fishing, golfing (he shot seven holes in one), and making Disney characters from wood. Most of all, he loved being a good husband, father and pop-pop. Richard was a friend to all in need. He enjoyed going to auctions and couldn't resist a good buy. He also loved playing poker. Richard will be greatly missed.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter: Valerie L. (Schell) Frymoyer, Mt. Penn; and one grandson: Patrick Hanley, Mt. Penn. Richard was predeceased by a son: Michael D. Schell, who died January 8, 2013.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
