Obituary for Mary Jane Spence (Eargood)
Mary Jane Spence, 81, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018. She was the wife of Jesse E. Spence, Sr., who died on September 14, 2008.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Cass) Eargood.
Mary Jane is survived by one son: Jesse E. Spence, Jr., and his wife Deborah (Pickel) Spence, Centre Twp.; three grandchildren: Jesse E. Spence, III, and his wife April; Todd Gilbert; and Jani (Gilbert), wife of Scott DuCoin; four great-grandchildren: Cohen, Ella, Myla, and Connor; and one sister: Susie Kuzniar, Reading. She was predeceased by a daughter: Cheryl L. (Spence), wife of Ronald Gilbert; grandson: Jason M. Spence; and two brothers: Samuel and Herman.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 6:00 pm from Zion's Church, 770 Zion's Church Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. A visitation with the family will be held in the church Friday 5:00 to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA 19605. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Leesport, is in charge of arrangements.
