Lee W.  Staab
Lee W. Staab, 80 of Bern Twp., passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 in Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. He was the husband of Gladys L. (Zimmerman) Staab. They were married on July 23, 1966 and celebrated fifty-two years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Jerome J. and Lucille W. (Whitacker) Staab. Lee was a 1955 graduate of Reading High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Seabees. Lee owned and operated Reading Garage Door for thirty-five years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp., where he was president of the joint Church Council, president of the Aid Society, and volunteer at the church picnics. Lee was a member of the Pretzel City Bear Den. He was a train enthusiast and an engineer and fireman at WK&S Railroad, Kempton. Lee also enjoyed animals, woodworking and carpentry, and made a full bedroom suit.
Surviving in addition to his wife is his sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Arlene and Wayne Hoffert; many nieces and nephews; and special friends: Brett and Brian Faust and Brenda Boltz.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from Salem (Belleman's) Church, 3540 Belleman's Church Road, Mohrsville, PA 19541. Burial will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp. A viewing will be held on Friday 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport and at the church Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Salem (Belleman's) Church Capital Campaign, at the above address. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Leesport is in charge of arrangements.
