Obituary for Kermit K. Shollenberger

Kermit K. Shollenberger, 73, of Windsor Township, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018, in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Debra R. (Wink) Shollenberger. They were married September 10, 1994, and celebrated 23 years of marriage.

Born in Bern Township, he was the son of the late Kermit J. and Violet M. (Stoudt) Shollenberger. He worked as an equipment operator for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation – Hamburg for 31 years, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed hunting and NASCAR. He was also a former racecar driver. Kermit was a member of the Port Clinton Fish and Game Association, a life member of Union Fire Co. No. 1 of Hamburg, Shartlesville Fire Company, and Central Berks Fire Company.

He is survived by three daughters: Tammara L. (Shollenberger) Schaner, wife of Gary R. Schaner, Hambrug, Karen L. (Shollenberger) Moser friend of Vernon C. Schaner, Jr., Hamburg, and Tracy A. (Shollenberger) Mason wife of Travis D. Mason, Hamburg; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters: Dorothy M. (Shollenberger) Kershner wife of Paul, Windsor Twp., and Joan A. (Shollenberger) Engle wife of Charles, Windsor Twp.; and his feline companions: Tigger and Violet. He was predeceased by a step-son: Morgan R. Wink.

Services will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11:00 am from St. John’s Church36 Penn Street, Port Clinton, PA 19549. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s (Smoke) Cemetery, Windsor Twp. A viewing will be held in the church from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to: One By One Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 272 Temple PA, 19560.
