Obituary for Glenn A. Yocom

Glenn A. Yocom, 84, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in his residence.

Born in Fleetwood, he was the son of the late John S. and Ada M. (Burns) Yocom. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1951. Glenn worked for 28 years at Allen Sherman Hoff, Hamburg, later working 20 years at Mid-Atlantic Canners, Hamburg, until retirement on May 8, 1998. He then worked 3 years for NAPA, and 3 years for County Chrysler, both of Hamburg. He was a life member of the Hamburg Historical Society, Williams Grove Old Timers at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, a 50 year member of Vaux Masonic Lodge No. 406 F&A.M. and a 60 year member of the Keystone Social Club, Hamburg. Glenn was also a former member of Hamburg Jaycees, Hamburg Lions Club, the International Association of Machinists, and Teamsters Local No. 429. He was also a former member of Scottish Rite Valley of Reading, Neversink Forest T.C.L. No. 32, Reading Commandery of Knights Templar No. 42, Excelsior Royal Arch Chapter #237, Rajah Shrine, Allentown Court #128, and Royal Order of Jesters.

He is survived by a sister: Beryl A. (Yocom) wife of Elmer L. Schrack, Upper Bern Twp., a brother: Donald P. Yocom husband of Roselyn J. (Adam) Yocom, Hamburg; his nieces and nephews: Stephanie Adam, Todd Reber, Jeffrey Schrack, and Eric Schrack; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a sister: Janet L. (Yocom) Reber.
