Obituary for Doris L. Woerner (Follweiler)

Doris L. Woerner, 83, of Lynn Twp., Lehigh Co., passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the Reading Hospital where she had been a patient since December 24. She was the wife of Lee A. Woerner, who died May 21, 1973.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel A. and Elsie M. (Bleacher) Follweiler. Doris was a graduate of Slatington High School. She was a homemaker until 1973 and then worked as a nurse's aide for the Hamburg Center until her retirement. Doris was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perry Twp., where she was a member of the choir. She enjoyed singing and sang in various local choruses. Doris was a member and past worthy matron of East Penn Chapter #336 Order of Eastern Star, Kutztown; a past president of the Ontelaunee Lioness Club; and a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. She enjoyed gardening, nature, wildlife and feeding the birds.
Doris is survived by her daughter: Karen W. (Woerner), wife of Lewis D. "Dewey" Freeman, III, Lynn Twp.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Jacob's Cemetery, Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202, in memory of Doris L. Woerner.
