Obituary for Doris L. Sweigert (Fatkin)
Doris L. Sweigert, 98, of Temple, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 in Manor Care, Laureldale. She was the widow of Arvel H. Sweigert, Jr.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Emily (Deibler) Fatkin. Doris graduated from The Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. She was a registered nurse first working for Pottsville Hospital and then for The Reading Hospital where she was head nurse in the coronary care unit. Doris attended Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, Blandon. She was active in mission work, enjoyed traveling in Africa and Isreal, and was a nurse at Twin Pines church camp.
Doris is survived by one daughter: Doris L. (Sweigert), widow of C. John Levan, Temple; two grandsons: Jeffrey Levan and Steven Levan; two great-grandchildren: Kyle Levan and Madison Levan; and two brothers: Ernest Fatkin, Florida and George Fatkin, Indiana. She was predeceased by a son: Arvel H. Sweigert, III; and three brothers: Richard, Kenneth, and Jay.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, 220 Main Street, Blandon, PA 19510.
