Obituary for Donette Gagliardi (Thomas)
Donette Gagliardi, 72, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 1, 2018 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the wife of Joseph F. Gagliardi. They were married on December 19, 1964 and celebrated fifty-three years of marriage.
Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Melba (Deibler) Thomas. Donette was a 1963 graduate of Blue Mountain High School. She worked in the operations center of Pennsylvania National Bank, Pottsville. Donette was a member of Grace E.C. Church, Schuylkill Haven. She was a member of the Cressona Historical Society, and volunteered at nursing homes and with her church. Donette enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and traveling.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children: Joseph A. Gagliardi, and his wife Lucia, West Lawn; and Julie A. (Gagliardi), wife of Barry Roth, Shoemakersville; and two grandchildren: Britton and Christian Gagliardi. Donette is also survived by her sisters: Suzanne Tice, Cressona; Nancy Croneberger, Schuylkill Haven; Eileen Helwig, Cressona; and Patricia Cargo, Lebanon; and various nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother: William Thomas.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will be private in Cressona Cemetery.
