Obituary for Donald J. Deissler

Donald J. Deissler, 79, of Leesport, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp. He was the husband of Ida M. (Spayd) Deissler. They were married July 15, 1978 and celebrated 36 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Seisler) Deissler. He was a 1952 graduate of Reading High School and was a veteran of the US Army. Donald worked as an inspector for NGK Metals in Temple until his retirement in 1992. He was a playing member of the US Army band during his time in the military and was a member of the Jazz Band at Reading High while in school. Donald was a member of Rajah Shrine, Vaux Lodge No. 406 F & A.M., Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and Legion of Honor. He loved his dog, Buddy, and was a fan of NASCAR.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Rosemary K. (Deissler) wife of David R. Grill, South Heidelberg Twp., and Christina M. (Deissler) White, Lower Alsace Twp. He was predeceased by a son: Donald J. Deissler, II, died October 1, 2001; a grandson: Travis A. White; and a brother: John Deissler.
