Delores E.  Smith (Edwards)
Delores E. Smith, 94, of Perry Twp., passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Spruce Manor, West Reading. She was the wife of Ernest D. Smith, died July 19, 2006.

Born in Warren, PA she was the daughter of the late Marcus J. and Sarah G. (Miller) Edwards. She graduated from Warren High School in 1941, and later attended Washington Missionary College, Tacoma Park, MD, for 2 years. Delores was a member of Kenhorst Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a member of the Young at Heart Club at her church. She loved her church and all of her friends that she knew there. Delores always enjoyed baking and cooking even into her 90’s. She had a sweet tooth until the end.

She is survived by three sons: David E. Smith, Shoemakersville, companion of May J. Salender, Randall F. Smith, Columbus, Ohio, and Jerry A. husband of Annette A. (Palfi) Smith, Hamburg; two daughters: Linda D. (Smith) wife of Denis L. Rettger, Mount Jewett, PA, and Evelyn C. (Smith) Lum companion of Vincent O. St. Thomas, Los Angeles; eight grandchildren: Aurora, Allison, Orion, Andrea, Sarah, Christine, Jereme, and Cynthia; four great-grandchildren: Colton, Tanner, Sawyer, and Emilio; and a sister: Lois K. (Edwards) Foster, Apopka, FL. She was predeceased by a daughter: Deborah A. Smith, died September 1972; a brother: Robert C. Edwards; and a sister: Mildred (Edwards) Anderson.

Services will be held Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (Off Street Parking in Rear). Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Shoemakersville. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home.
