C. Viola Yoder, 91, of Shoemakersville, passed away in her residence on Saturday, January 6, 2018.
Born in Shartlesville, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Clara A. (Stoyer) Henne. Viola worked as a sewing machine operator for Hamburg Knitting Mill. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg. Viola was a Republican Committee woman and was active in the PTA. She loved her flowers and gardening.
Viola is survived by her children: Rose A. (Yoder), widow of David D. Saul, Shoemakersville and with whom she resided; and Rodney A. Yoder, Tilden Twp.; three grandchildren: Tara, Justin and Chris; and six great-grandchildren: Caitlyn, Logan, Nicholas, Madison, Lexington and Parker. She is also survived by her brother: Charles Wilmer Henne, Leesport; and her sister: Esther (Henne) Spayd, a resident of the Laurel Center. Viola was predeceased by a son: Scott P. Yoder, died in 1958; and her siblings: Earl Roeder, Warren Henne, Willis Henne, Mamie DeWald, Verna Braucher, Edna Lesher, and Mabel Kauffman.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. John's Ev.
