Obituary for Charles F. Kessler

Charles F. Kessler, of Riverview Park, Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014 in ManorCare, Laureldale. He was the husband of Anna S. (Seidel) Kessler who died May 8, 2011.
Born in Hamburg, he was the son of the late Preston and Ida H. (Heckman) Kessler. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Charles graduated from Kutztown University in 1967 with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. He taught school at Lauer's Park Elementary School and Second and Elm Elementary School in Reading, retiring in 1987. Charles was a member of Union Fire Company, Hamburg and beneficial association; Temple Democratic Club and beneficial association, Pennsylvania State Retired Teacher's Association; and the National Retired Teachers Association.
Charles is survived by one daughter: Cheryl A. (Kessler), widow of Tom Clark, Annandale, Virginia; three grandchildren; and one sister: Estella (Kessler) Bowman, Duncan, Oklahoma. He was predeceased by two brothers: Clair and Raymond Kessler.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
