Audrey M  Balthaser (Schollenberger)
Audrey M. Balthaser, 91, of Hamburg, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 in Weston Senior Living Center at Pinebrook, Orwigsburg, where she resided. She was the wife of Franklin J. "Chut" Balthaser, who died February 28, 2013.
Born in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late Howard H. and Frances M. (Boltz) Schollenberger. Audrey was a 1945 graduate of Hamburg High School and a 1967 graduate of Kutztown State Teachers College. She taught second grade at Perry, Upper Bern and Tilden Elementary Schools until her retirement. Audrey attended The Bridge Church, Hamburg. She was past president of the Hamburg Woman's Club and Business and Professional Women, Hamburg; and a member of the Palm Bay Women's Club, Florida. Audrey and her husband enjoyed the many years they spent in Florida. Together, they visited every state capital of the United States.
Audrey is survived by her children: Pamela A. (Balthaser), wife of Lyn Gruber, Hot Springs, Arkansas; Steve A. Balthaser, and his wife Carol, Hamburg; and Todd D. Balthaser, and his wife Martie, Wyomissing; nine grandchildren: Jeff, Michael, Heidi, Heather, Amy, Sheena, Benjamin, David and Rachel; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister: Doris L. (Schollenberger), widow of Edward Mengel, Greensboro, North Carolina. Audrey was predeceased by a son: Scott H. Balthaser, who died July 6, 2001.
