Elizabeth M.  Lorah
Elizabeth M. “Betty” Lorah, 81, of Maidencreek Twp., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. She was the wife of Henry A. Lorah. They were married May 15, 1971 and celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Vasco) Sakal. She worked as a sewing machine operator for various knitting mills in the area. Betty was a lifelong homemaker. She was an awesome wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, making afghans, birdwatching, and was an excellent seamstress. She loved animals, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Betty is survived by a son: Steven Edwards husband of Gina M. (Bandle), Mohrsville; two daughters: Deborah Lee (Edwards) Snare companion of Thomas Shearstone, Milmont, Kimberly (Edwards) Ammon, Coatesville; eight grandchildren: Thomas husband of Erica, Lucian husband of Assunta, Bianca, Jacob, Noah, Skylar, Devon and Taylor; and two great-grandchildren: Micah and Carson, and one on the way.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Monday, January 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the funeral home.
