Marilyn M.  Leibensperger (Mengle)
Marilyn M. Leibensperger, 84, formerly of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 in StoneRidge Towne Centre, Myerstown. She was the wife of Kenneth G. Leibensperger, who died February 23, 2008.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Paul C. and Dorothy K. (Keim) Mengle. Marilyn was a 1950 graduate of Reading High School; and a 1954 graduate of Kutztown State Teachers College. She first taught fifth grade for two years at 13th and Union Elementary School of the Reading School District. Marilyn then taught kindergarten for twenty-four years for the Schuylkill Valley School District, until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Retired Teachers Association. Marilyn was an active member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, Temple, where she was a former Sunday School teacher; and teacher at junior church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by one daughter: Ann L. (Leibensperger), wife of Mark W. Kern, Gouglersville; six grandchildren: Rebecca, wife of Jonathan Longenecker; Rachael Kern, Sarah, wife of Christopher Mikaya, Peter Leibensperger, and wife Kelly, John Leibensperger, and wife Lola, and James Leibensperger, and wife Kayla; one great-granddaughter: Amelia Mikaya; and one brother: Philip K. Mengle, and wife Gloria, Ontelaunee Twp. She was predeceased by one son: Bishop Kevin S. Leibensperger, who died June 1, 2010.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Leesport Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 am. For online condolences, please visit, www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com.
