Obituary for Grace E. Rank
Grace E. Rank, 75, of Leesport, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Reading Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Spring Twp. She was the wife of Roland W. Rank, died October 3, 2009.
Born in Centre Twp., she was the daughter of the late George W. and Ada M. (Knoll) Werley. She was a member of Salem (Belleman’s) Church, Centre Twp. Grace worked as a cook for Schuylkill Valley School District for 32 years retiring in June 2003. She was a former president of Union Fire Co., No. 1 of Leesport Ladies Auxiliary. She was a life member and former Financial Secretary of the fire company. She was a member of the Shoey Senior Citizens, and volunteered her time to the Lung Association at the Reading Hospital.
Grace is survived by two sons: Bruce W. Rank, companion of Margaret A. Emerich, Leesport, and Dean A. Rank, Ontelaunee Twp,; five grandchildren: Megan wife of Joey Evans, Jeremy, Kyle, Konnor, and Karlee; six sisters: Mae A. (Werley) wife of James L. Weber, Betty J. (Werley) widow of Harold Kreider, Ethel M. (Werley) wife of George Dietrich, Diane E. (Werley) widow of Gerald Rentschler, Ruth I. (Werley) wife of Michael Donatelli, and June L. (Werley) wife of Richard Sonon; and four brothers: Roy W. Werley, Charles W. Werley, Ralph W. Werley, and Larry W. Werley. She is also survived by her companion: Ralph J. “Dewey” Kemmerer. She was predeceased by a daughter: Debra Ann Rank in 1960.
Services will be held Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Fuenral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in St. John’s (Gernant’s) Cemetery, Ontelaunee Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home from 9:30 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Union Fire Co. No. 1 of Leesport, P.O. Box 777 Leesport, PA 19533. For online condolences, please visit www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com
