Obituary for Jeannette J. Bachman (Miller)

Jeannette J. Bachman, 92, formerly of Hamburg, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 in Peter Becker Community, Harleysville, where she resided since July 31, 2010. She was the wife of Nevin R. Bachman, who died April 6, 2015.
Born in Shoemakersville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey C. and Mary E. (Withers) Miller. Jeannette worked as a teacher's aide for the Berks County Intermediate Unit, Hamburg, until her retirement. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Hamburg. Jeannette was a member and former Worthy Matron of Blue Mt. Chapter #443 Order of Eastern Star, Hamburg; and a former active member of the Hamburg Woman's Club. She enjoyed needlework, quilting, drapery making, making dolls, cooking, baking, and making ceramics from her own kiln. Jeannette also enjoyed spending time in Delaware fishing with her husband, Nevin, and catching more fish than him. Jeannette went on seven cruises with Nevin, traveling to Alaska, Panama Canal, and the Caribbean islands.
Jeannette is survived by one son: Kenneth A. Bachman, husband of Norma J. (Prutzman) Bachman, Middletown; one daughter: Doris A. (Bachman), wife of Gerald R. DeLong, Harleysville; three grandchildren: Laura DeLong; Kevin Bachman and his wife Rebekah; and Erin (Bachman), wife of David Clouser; and five great-grandchildren: Aidan and Stellan Bachman; and Morgan, Carolyn, and Adelaide Clouser. She was predeceased by a granddaughter: Cynthia DeLong; one brother: Randal Miller; and four sisters: Alma Krause, Romayne Miller, Mae Miller, and Marianna Lash.
Services will be held on Friday at 1:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Friday 12:30 to 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Bethany United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 325, Hamburg, PA 19526.
