Obituary for Geraldine A. Wayne (Shade)
Geraldine A. Wayne, 79, of Bern Twp., passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Penn State Health St. Joseph. She was the wife of Donald J. Wayne. They were married on May 19, 1956 and celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Matilda (Stamm) Shade. Geraldine first worked for Diener's Knitting Mill for ten years; and then worked ten years in the housekeeping department of ManorCare, Laureldale, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed word search, traveling, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren. Geraldine also enjoyed listening to country music and 50's rock music.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Dawn L. (Wayne), wife of Brian P. Keller, Perry Twp.; and Kim A. Wayne, Bern Twp.; two grandchildren: Justin M. Keller, husband of Erica (Romig) Keller, Hamburg; and Kaitlyn D. Keller, Perry Twp.; and one great-grandson: Owen Keller; and another on the way. Geraldine was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
Services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Monday 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 am. For online condolences, please visit, www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com.
