Obituary for Myra Fay Adams (Taldo)

Myra Fay Adams, 85, of Maidencreek Twp., died Tuesday, September 23, 2015 in Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. She was the wife of Nevin W. Adams. They were married October 9, 1960 and celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Born in Archbald, Lackawanna County, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Myrtle (Bolin) Taldo. Myra was a member of St. John’s (Gernant’s) Church, Ontelaunee Twp. She worked as a waitress for many years at the former Witmar Inn, Muhlenberg Twp., and Indian Fort Inn, Tilden Twp. She later demonstrated windows for Thermal Sash Windows. Myra served on various committees throughout the Jurisdiction of Pennylvania International Order of Odd Fellows. She was a member of Lady Colfax Rebekah Lodge No. 182 of Leesport, where she was a past Noble Grand. She was a member of Rebekah assembly of Pennsylvania, past president of LAPM Canton Leesport #2, past president of Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant Association of Pennsylvania. Myra also served on the board of directors at the Odd Fellows Home at Middletown, and the Orphans Home of Philadelphia. Myra was very active with the Pennsylvania Arthritis Committee Camp JRA. Myra and her husband hosted multiple exchange students from all over the world over the years with Rotary International, many of which they always considered to be their children.
Myra was predeceased by three sisters: Jean, Joyce, and Gale.
Memorial Services will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. from Leibenperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leeport, PA 19533. A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 in the funeral home. Lady Colfax Rebekah Lodge No. 182 Leesport will hold a service at 12:45 P.M.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: Pennsylvania Arthritis Foundation Camp JRA, c/o Nevin Adams 951 Shoemakersville Rd., Shoemakersville, PA 19555.
