Obituary for William R. Kerper

William R.  Kerper
William R. Kerper, Sr., 84, of Lower Heidelberg Twp., passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 in St. Joseph Medical Center.
Born July 24, 1931 in Birdsboro, he was the son of the late Earl A. and Mary M. (Keller) Kerper. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War; and was a former member of the 5th ROTC. William worked for many years for Reading Tube/Cambridge-Lee Industries. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to cook.
William is survived by one son: William R. Kerper, Jr., and his wife Tammy, Perry Twp.; one daughter: Jessica D. (Kerper), wife of Eric J. Weaknecht; daughter-in-law: Linda Kerper; ten grandchildren: Emily M. Barrett, Ryan, Patrick, Christopher, Timothy, Jonathan, Kevin, and Taryn Kerper, and Damian and Kiley Roland; and six great-granchildren. He is also survived by one sister: Audrey E. (Kerper), wife of James C. DeLong, Leesport; and one brother: Keith E. Kerper, and his wife Linda, Georgia. William was predeceased by a son: Denny W. Kerper, died August 10, 2000; and one brother: Gerald R. Kerper.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial with military honors will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Tuesday 9:30 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter, 100 N. 20th Street, Suite 405, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
