Obituary for Helen L. Sonon (Wisser)

Helen L. Sonon, 81, formerley of Klinesville and a resident of Seton Manor, Orwigsburg passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 in Schuylkill Medical Center- East, Pottsville. She was the wife of Elmer S. Sonon, died January 2, 1979.
Born in Lenhartsville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Helen (Moll) Wisser.
She graduated from Kutztown High School in 1951. Helen and her husband owned and operated the Klinesville Hotel from 1964 to 1972. She was a lifetime member of Virginville Grange, a former member of Kutztown Rod and Gun Club, and she was a member of the Peer Group at Seton Manor. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search books, and she loved BINGO. Helen was a very loving grandmother to her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by four sons: Jeffrey L. husband of Denene J. (Townley) Sonon, Auburn; Gregory L. husband of Lucille Sonon, Auburn; Craig A. husband of Pamela J. (Heckman) Sonon, Hamburg; and Philip A. husband of Regina M. (Schaeffer) Sonon, Cressona. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother: Carl Wisser, Virginville; and two sisters: Barbara (Wisser) Stump, Lititz, and Ella (Wisser) Strittmatter, New Jersey. She was predeceased by eight siblings.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg, PA 19526 (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in Frieden's Cemetery, Lenhartsville. A viewing will be held in the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. For online condolences, please visit www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com
