Obituary for Richard D. Kline

Richard D. Kline, 81, of Perry Twp., passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in his residence. He was the husband of Miriam M. (Wagner) Kline. They were married on March 30, 1956 and celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage.
Born in Shoemakersville, he was the son of the late Robert K. and Myrl (Keim) Kline. Richard was supervisor of Perry Twp. for thirty years until his retirement. He also worked for Jenny Seaman Box Factory, Shoemakersville; Wolfe Dye and Bleach Works; and Garden State Tanning. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hamburg. Richard was a life member of Union Fire Company and beneficial association, Hamburg; Shoemakersville Fire Company and Perry Twp. Game Association. He was also a member of Kempton Rod and Gun Club; Pike Twp., Sportsman's and beneficial association; and Victor Emmanuel Society, where he enjoyed going to eat. Richard enjoyed clamming and hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Eugene R. Kline, and his wife Sandra, Birdsboro; one daughter: Ann M. (Kline), widow of Orin "Sonny" Womack, Long Neck, Delaware; one granddaughter: Staci E. Kline; and sister: Grace (Kline), wife of Ralph Groff, Tilden Twp. Richard will be missed by his companion "Toby". He was predeceased by two brothers: George and Robert Kline; and one sister: Fern Burkert.
Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Manbeck's Church Cemetery, Rock, Schuylkill Co. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Monday 9:30 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. John's Lutheran Church, 99 Church Street, Hamburg, PA 19526.
