Obituary

Zachary T. Korch, 41, of Ontelaunee Twp., passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Reading, he was the son of Bernard R., Jr. and Pamela J. (Greenawalt) Korch. Zach was a 1999 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. He worked in the machine shop at UGI. Zach was well-known as the drummer for Better Than Nothing and as part of the racing family at Shellhammer's Speedway. He had an affinity for tattoos and enjoyed custom painting, including airbrushing helmets. Zach enjoyed hunting and especially enjoyed helping people. Zach was a quiet, friendly and ultra-conservative person. More than anything, he loved his daughter. Zach will be missed by many. Surviving in addition to his parents is his daughter: Micayla J. Korch, Pottsville; two brothers: Thomas G. Greenawalt, and his fiance Ashley Anders, Philadelphia; and Bernard R. Korch III, and his wife Lori, Reading; two nephews: Tye and Cam Greenawalt; two nieces: Lulu Greenawalt and Samantha Korch; step-daughter: Katana Keller; Lexis Strause, Micayla's sister; and his significant other: Tamala Sue Lenhart. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, PA 19533 to assist the family with final expenses.
