William E. McCowan, 66, of Leesport, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 in his residence.

Born in Lafayette, Indiana, he was the son of the late George E. and Margaret J. (Hazlett) McCowan. He graduated from Antilles Military Academy in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, and later received his Bachelor's Degree from St. Vincent College, Latrobe, PA. William began his successful banking career in 1983, holding many roles ranging from credit manager to director of lending. He retired in August 2013. He enjoyed listening to music, playing golf, fishing, bird watching, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions.

He is survived by a son: Matthew M. McCowan, husband of Ashley E. (Wundrum), Spring, TX; a daughter: Carly E. McCowan, fiance of Timothy J. Heffner, Oley; two grandchildren: Benjamin C., and Owen M. McCowan. He is also survived by a brother: Daniel McCowan, Tennessee, and two sisters: Michelle (McCowan) Lighty, Mokena, Illinois, and Lynn (McCowan) Miller, Venice, FL.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 10:00 am in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 am.
