William S. Heffner, 83, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Arlene V. (Adams) Heffner. They were married January 29, 1949 and celebrated 64 years of marriage. Born in Cressona, he was the son of the late Samuel E. and Mary (Gaydos) Heffner. Bill worked for Glen-Gery Brick as a supervisor for 48 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville, and a life member of Shoemakersville Fire Company. Bill enjoyed traveling and going to casinos with his wife, Arlene. In their travels together, they visited all 50 states. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters: Linda L. (Heffner), wife of Thomas W. Geisweit, Sinking Spring; Susan A. (Heffner), wife of Bryan W. Althouse, Shoemakersville; and LuAnn V. (Heffner), wife of Dale E. Clouser, Glenmoore. He is also survived by 2 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, and 3 sisters. Bill was predeceased by a grandson and a brother. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp.
