William E. Benson, 92, a resident at Berks Heim, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 in Berks Heim. He was the husband of the late Nettie S. (Moser) Benson. She passed away March 31, 2009.

Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Fritz and Susan (Kerschner) Benson. He graduated from Tamaqua High School, and was a US Army veteran. Bill worked as a postal worker in different Reading post offices for approximately 30 years, until retirement. He was an avid train enthusiast, and enjoyed gardening years ago. He was a member of Behler-Hein Post No. 637 American Legion, Hamburg.

He is survived by a daughter: Denise L. (Benson), wife of Herb F. Greusel, Centre Twp.; and two grandsons: Aron J. and Carl R. Greusel. He was predeceased by two brothers: Robert V. Benson, and infant brother: Jimmy Benson.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 am in the funeral home.
