Wilford E. Cooley, 90, of Spring Twp., passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 in the Berks Heim. He was the husband of Violet L. (Davis) Cooley. They were married on February 13, 1985 and celebrated thirty-eight years of marriage.

Born in Heidelberg, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Buford K. and Mattie (Hudleston) Cooley. Wilford retired from the United States Military in 1974 after twenty-two years of service. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force, serving at the end of WWII; and during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Wilford then worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight. He was a member of St. John's (Gernant's) Church, Ontelaunee Twp. Wilford enjoyed turkey hunting. He had his gunsmith license and enjoyed making bullets and re-doing guns.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a step-daughter: Darla L. Levey, Spring Twp.; two brothers: Lowell Cooley, Nebraska; and Darrel Cooley, husband of Jackie, Mississippi; and one sister: Barbara Sistrunk, wife of Frank, Mississippi. Wilford was predeceased by a sister: Ree Harper.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 11:00 am from Good Shepherd Cemetery, 160 Tuckerton Road, Reading.
