Wilbur W. Wolfe, 90, of Auburn, passed away in his residence on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. He was the husband of Shirley E.J. (Greenzweig) Wolfe who died April 10, 2019. They were married on October 24, 1953 and celebrated sixty-six years of marriage at the time of her death.
Born in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Daisy E. (Kunkle) Wolfe. Wilbur worked as a welder for Corson Lime, Plymouth Meeting. After his retirement, he worked at Walmart and would dress up as Santa Claus. Wilbur enjoyed going to the Tamaqua Adult Daycare where he would play bingo and listen to music. He enjoyed playing cards, dominos, watching sports, Westerns, and Family Feud which was his favorite. Wilbur was known to be a jokester. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling with his wife Shirley. Wilbur especially enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his great-grandchildren.
Wilbur is survived by his children: Suzanne E. Rodriguez, wife of Efrain; Diana L. Woodward; Jane L. Freece-Murray; Shirley E. Warfield, wife of Kenneth; and Rhonda R. Beard, wife of William; seventeen grandchildren; and thirty-nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Charlotte Mastrocola; and Clarence Wolfe. Wilbur was predeceased by a daughter: Linda F. Wolfe; and siblings: Faye Sheckler; Shirley Kresge; Arlan Wolfe; Charles Wolfe; Lamont Wolfe; and Anna F. Filandino.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 noon from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). A viewing will be held in the funeral home Tuesday 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. For online condolences, please visit, www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com.
