Werner H. Miller, 76, of Shoemakersville, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 4, 2013 in Brunswick Novant Medical Center, Bolivia, North Carolina, shortly after arrival. He was the husband of Joan F. (Kistler) Miller. They were married on September 15, 1959 and celebrated 54 years of marriage. Born in Kutztown, he was the son of Mabel H. (Weigle) Miller, a resident at Berks Heim; and the late Werner C. Miller. Werner was a 1955 graduate of Perry High School and received an Associate's Degree in Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Werner worked for thirty-three years for the Pennsylvania Steel Foundry and Machine Company, Hamburg, retiring as Vice-President of Sales. He was an active member of Zion's Church, Perry Twp., where he served as a former treasurer. Werner was a member of the Board of Directors for the Berks County Association for the Blind for 45 years. He was also a past president and 50-year member of the Kutztown Lions Club. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two sons: Scott W. Miller, and his wife Kathy, Hartley, Delaware; and John R. Miller, Norfolk, Virginia; one daughter: Lois A. (Miller), wife of Jerry Kenward, Northville, Michigan; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Werner is also survived by one brother: Marshall L. Miller, and his wife Joan, Shoemakersville; and Nancy A. (Miller), widow of Roger Miller, Millersburg. Services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm from Zion's Church, 770 Zion's Church Road, Hamburg. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held in the church Saturday 12:30 to 2:00 pm.
