Violet S. Koch, 92, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in Orwigsburg Center, where she resided for two and half years. She was the wife of Elwood E. Koch, Sr., who died January 10, 1976.
Born in Blandon, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Goldie V. (Becker) Heckman. She worked for thirty years for the Hamburg Knitting Mills, retiring in August 1983. Violet was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg. She was also a former member of Blue Mt. Senior Citizens.
Violet is survived by her daughter-in-law: Sue (VanRiper) Koch, Millville; and one sister: Marion N. (Heckman) Biehl, Temple. She was predeceased by two sons: Rodney D. Koch, died January 20, 1969; and Elwood E. Koch, Jr., died March 7, 2008; two brothers: Marks I. Heckman; and Roy F. Heckman; and one sister: Joyce M. (Heckman) Schlottman.
Services will be on Saturday at 1:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
