Vincent C. Stoner, 91, formerly of Muhlenberg Twp. and Shillington, died Friday, February 15, 2013 in The Reading Hospital. He was taken there from Keystone Villa, Blandon where he resided. He was predeceased by his first wife: Pearl R. (Wilhelm) Stone, died August 16, 1988 and his second wife : Josephine (Morrione) Stoner, died September 6, 2011.
Born in Shillington, he was the son of the late Claude and Susan E. (Wertz) Stoner. Vincent was a U.S. Navy Seabees veteran of World War II. He worked for thirty-eight years as a tool maker for Reading Automatic Machine Company, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Reading. Vincent was a member of Shoemakersville Senior Citizens.
Vincent is survived by one son: Alan R., husband of Kathie (Krick) Stoner, Lynchburg, Virginia; one daughter: Pamela S. (Stoner), wife of William Cooper, Robesonia; three grandchildren: Janet, wife of Scott Gephart; and Jason, husband of Jennifer Stoner, both of Richmond, VA; and David Cooper, Robesonia; and three great-grandchildren: Logan and Ella Gephart; and Jacob Stoner. He is also survived by one sister: Mary E. (Stoner) Hafer, a resident of Berks Heim, Bern Twp. Vincent was predeceased by four brothers: Marvin, Charles, Clair, and Stewart Stoner; and one sister: Betty (Stoner) Ullrich.
Services will be on Saturday at 1:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial with military honors will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
