V. Pearl Wagner, 91, of Leesport, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the wife of Lawrence H. Wagner. They were married on March 21, 1942 and celebrated 71 years of marriage. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Martin A. and Katie L. (Harber) Spraut. Pearl worked as a sewing machine operator for the former Washington Knitting Mill, then Diener's Knitting Mill in Leesport for 39 years, retiring in 1983. Pearl was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. She was also a member of Central Berks Fire Company and Ladies Auxilliary, Centerport. Pearl was a past president of the Centerport Flower Club. Surviving in addition to her husband is a son Rodney L. Wagner, husband of Anne E. Wagner, Leesport, four grandchildren: Melanie; Jeremy; Adrienne, wife of Nathan; and Matthew, husband of Rebecca; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister Inez (Spraut) Morris, Shillington, Services will be held on Saturday, at 10:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A viewing will be held Friday 6:30-8:30 pm in the funeral home, and Saturday from 9:00-10:00 am. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp.
