Timothy J. Coonahan, II, 83, of Leesport, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 in his residence. He was the husband of Joanne M. (Kavas) Coonahan. They were married December 30, 1961 and celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William J. and Diademma B. (Ankele) Coonahan. He graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 1957, and later received a Bachelor's Degree in accounting from Lasalle University. He was a US Navy Veteran. Tim worked as an accountant at Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 21 years until retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bethlehem; and Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Bethlehem Twp. Tim was instrumental in planning his annual high school reunion and was always in charge of beverages. He was known as the "unofficial mayor of 36th street" in Ocean City, New Jersey; and always loved his summer's in OCNJ.

Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Timothy J. Coonahan, III, Sterling, MA; two daughters: Susan L. (Coonahan), wife of Jeffrey K. Hite, Leesport, and Lori A. (Coonahan) O'Toole, wife of Brendan J., Henderson, NV; six grandchildren: Erin Coonahan, wife of Scott McArthur, Owen, and Mitchell Coonahan, Stephen and Jennifer Hite, and Connor O'Toole; and a great-grandson: Jack McArthur. He is also survived by his special friend and caregiver: Glenda.

Memorial services will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 am in the funeral home.
