Obituary

Thomas E. Stichter, 68, of Tilden Twp., passed away in the Reading Hospital on Monday, August 1, 2016. He was the husband of Carol M. (Krammes) Stichter. They were married on June 18, 1966 and celebrated fifty years of marriage. Born in West Reading, he was the son of Sarah (Beissel) Yoder, Centre Twp.; and the late Wellington Stichter. Thomas worked as a landscaper for Little Tree Nursery and was also a self-employed carpenter. He was member of Strausstown Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandson. Surviving in addition to his mother and wife is one daughter: Tracey R. (Stichter), wife of John Greenly, Jefferson Twp.; three grandsons: Wesley Heim, Kyle Heim, and William Stichter; one great-granddaughter: Kacie; and a great-grandson: Julien Thomas, who is expected any day. Thomas is also survived by two brothers: Kenneth George Stichter, Centre Twp.; and Russell Stichter, Windsor Twp.; and two sisters: Linda (Stichter) Becker, Bern Twp.; and Nancy (Stichter) Lisa, Leesport. He was predeceased by two sons: Todd A. Stichter, died December 3, 2009; and Tommy E. Stichter, died June 19, 2010; one brother: Timothy Stichter; and one sister: Ann (Stichter) Wagner. A celebration of Thomas's life will be held at his residence on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg, PA 19526 to assist the family with final expenses.
