Thomas W. Paine, 89, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 in the Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of Gertrude C. (Rothermel) Paine, who died September 19, 1993.

Born in Fleetwood, he was the son of the late Harry and Nora (Bowman) Paine. Thomas was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Quaker Maid Kitchens. Thomas also worked at Mastercraft and Fleetwood Industries. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, word search books, wood crafting, and spending time with the little ones in the family.

Thomas is survived by four children: Rosemary C., wife of Ronald Bausher, Leesport; Thomas J. Paine, Orwigsburg; Richard W. Paine, husband of Sue, Orwigsburg; and Lori A., wife Ronald Sweigart, Orwigsburg; seven grandchildren; twenty great- grandchildren; and one great-great- granddaughter. Thomas was predeceased by twin sons: Kerry and Terry; a daughter; and his siblings: Richard, Jim, Norman, Venetta, Wilda, Nancy, Frone, Pearl and Myrtle.

Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Monday 10:00-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the funeral home at the above address.
