Theresa F. Miller, "Tess", 86, of Upper Bern Twp., passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in the residence of her daughter. She was the wife of Nelson T. Miller, who died June 10, 2001. Born in Oley, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Katie (Reider) Cleaver. She was a 1948 graduate of Hamburg High School. Tess first worked as a waitress at the former Lesher's Hotel, Shartlesville, from 1947-1948. She and her husband owned and operated Little Dutch Farm from 1961-1968; and Mountain Springs Campground and Arena, Shartlesville, from 1961 until her retirement in 2008. Tess was a member of Frieden's Church, Shartlesville. She always loved gardening flowers and birdwatching. Tess is survived by her children: Richard N. Miller, and his wife Donna, Upper Bern Twp.; James T. Miller, Tilden Twp.; and Debra A. (Miller), wife of Steven Fisher, Upper Bern Twp.; four grandchildren: Shane Adam, Brett Miller, Lacy Miller and Jenna Miller; and three great-grandchildren: Slayde Miller, Brooklyn Miller and Giavanni Tortuor. She is also survived by one sister: Frances Henne, in Mississippi. Tess was predeceased by her siblings: Anna Cuper, George Cleaver, Eleanor Kauffman-Nape, Mary Hill, Sara Gamalaro, Emily Dolas, Judith Lutz, Frank Cleaver, and Charles Cleaver. Tess's family would like to give a special thank you to Pastor Inge Williams, Dr. Kevin McNeill, Berks Visiting Nurse Association, and Pat Fisher. Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am from Frieden's Church, 28 Wolf Creek Road, P.O. Box 336, Shartlesville, PA 19554. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A viewing will be held at the church Monday 9:30 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Frieden's Church Memorial Fund, at the above address.
