Steven E. Dunkelberger, 54, of Auburn, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in the Hospice Unit of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Mary Emma (Huff) Dunkelberger. Steven was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for three years serving as an MP. He worked as a mobile welder with Radenhausen and O'Neal, in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. Steven was an active member of the NRA; a member of the Port Clinton Fire Company; and a member of the Harley Owners Group. He enjoyed being outside, hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. Steven was a football and baseball coach for Blue Mountain, Tri-County and Southern Area baseball.
Steven is survived by one son: Spc. Trevor W. Dunkelberger, serving with the Army National Guard; grandson: Liam Dunkelberger; step-son: Jarret Zalonka, Deer Lake; and his significant other: Janet Collins, Auburn. He is also survived by one brother: Charles H. Dunkelberger, Jr., husband of Cathy (Shadel) Dunkelberger, Mohrsville; one sister: Deborah P. (Dunkelberger), wife of Terrence C. Werley, Mohrsville; two nieces; and two nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation with the family will be held Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
