Obituary

Stephen J. Reinheimer, 65, of Hamburg, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Born at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan, Steve was the beloved son of the late Herbert W. Reinheimer and Joyce A. (Silvano) Reinheimer-Miglietta.

Steve devoted much of his professional life to management within the landscaping and turf care industries. He spent 16 meaningful years at Messiah University (formerly Messiah College), where his role eventually led him into the field of locksmithing.

Steve's love for Jesus overflowed into a genuine love for people. He had an extraordinary gift for building relationships and making others feel truly seen, valued, and welcome, whether they were lifelong friends or someone he had just met. His kindness, warmth, empathy, and ability to listen made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He often embraced friends as family and was especially known for his quick wit, contagious humor, and unforgettable, heartfelt hugs.

Faith and community were central to Steve's life. He formed lifelong friendships through New Life Family Church in Biglerville, Freedom Valley Church in Gettysburg, The Church at Rancho Bernardo in San Diego, and, most recently, at The Bridge Church, Zion's Church, and The Journey Church in Hamburg. As a faithful member of Celebrate Recovery, Steve found great joy in walking alongside others, offering steady support, encouragement, and compassion as they navigated life's challenges.

Above all else, Steve's greatest love was his family. They were his pride, his joy, and his heart. He cherished every opportunity to gather together at family reunions, weddings, celebrations, and simple moments alike, especially when distance, at times, kept them apart. He was a constant presence at his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, cheering them on with unwavering pride. Steve also loved the outdoors: fishing, camping, and sporting events, particularly when shared with those he loved.

Steve's love was sincere, patient, and contagious. He accepted people fully, honoring their stories and the journeys that shaped them, despite their past and the "shoes they walked in."

Steve is lovingly remembered by his children: Stephen J. Reinheimer II, husband of Molly A. (Paulsen) of Tilden Township; Jessica S. (Reinheimer) Brundage, wife of David E. of Marysville; Stefani D. (Reinheimer) Boyer, wife of Jordan M. of Tilden Township; Rachael E. (Reinheimer) Skrobot, wife of Lucas J. of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan; and Jordan P. Reinheimer, husband of Rebecca T. (Blair) of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the proud and devoted grandfather of thirteen grandchildren: Moriah and Sophia Reinheimer; Isabella and Jonah Brundage; Amayah, Micah, and Savannah Boyer; Arrow, Aiden, Axel, Anchor, and Atlas Skrobot; and Parker Reinheimer. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy (Reinheimer) Figueroa of Panama City, Florida; and his two brothers, John Reinheimer of Fleming Island, Florida, and Robert Reinheimer of Panama City, Florida.

A memorial service celebrating Steve's life will be held on March 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at The Journey Café, 320 Pine Street, Hamburg, PA 19526. Online condolences may be shared at www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com.
