Stella S. Gruber, 90, formerly of Hamburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. Born in Ontelaunee Twp., she was the daughter of the late Clarence J. and Stella (Shucker) Shrom. She was a 1942 graduate of Perry High School. Stella worked for twenty years in food service for Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Bethlehem, retiring in June 1990. She was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville. Stella is survived by two sons: Robert D. Gruber, Allentown; and John R. Gruber, and his wife Susan, of South Carolina; three daughters: Dolores K., wife of Raymond Baker, Walnutport; Donna C., wife of William Breitinger, Phoenixville; and Alexis J., wife of Paul Freidlander, Ft. Myers, Florida; seven grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother: John A. Shrom, Kissimmee, Florida; and two sisters: Mildred M. Rumberger, Hamburg; and Pearl E. Carl, Simi Valley, CA. Stella was predeceased by a son: Donald B. Gruber, Jr. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday 10:00 to 10:30 am.
