Stella A. Dietrich, 103, formerly of Perry Twp., died Sunday, June 24, 2012 in Kutztown Manor. Her husband, Homer G. Dietrich, died November 21, 1999.

Born January 3, 1909 on the family farm in Perry Twp., she was the daughter of the late Jacob F. and Vinnie C. (Focht) Epting. Stella and her husband Homer owned and operated the family farm in Perry Twp. She was the oldest member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perry Twp. Stella was a member of the former Centerport Grange; and a member of the Shoemakersville Senior Citizens. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, baking, gardening, playing bingo, and word search.

Stella is survived by two sons: Leroy W. Dietrich, Perry Twp.; and Carl R. Dietrich, husband of Eleanor, Perry Twp.; and one daughter: Doris M. (Dietrich), wife of Earl H. Mertz, Richmond Twp; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother: Earl J. Epting.

Services will be on Friday at 10:30 am from Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 354 Zion's Church Road, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Burial will be in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held in the church Friday 9:30 to 10:30 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to Zion's Ev. Lutheran Church Memorial Fund at the address above.
