SHIRLEY A. (FISHER) LIBER Shirley A. (Fisher) Liber, age 81, of Tilden Township, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in the Reading Hospital, with her daughter by her side. She was born October 8, 1933 in West Brunswick Twp., Schuylkill County, above the Molino Service Station and Restaurant, which her father owned and operated for 40 years. She was the daughter of the late Gordon A. "Dewey" Fisher and Mary A. (Keller) Fisher. Her husband, Lewis J. Liber, passed away on October 27, 2009. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Mary M. Liber, Tilden Township, with whom she resided. She is also survived by a sister, Lois L. (Fisher) Plucker, widow of Bill Plucker, Deer Lake, Schuylkill County. Shirley was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. She graduated from Hamburg High School in 1951. Shirley worked in the office at the Hamburg Broom Works and later in the office for Price Battery / General Battery / Exide Battery in Hamburg, retiring in 1991. She loved to bowl in her younger years and had lots of fun with her teammates Ginny Kreider, Shirley Schrack, and Alma Klinger at Central Bowl. Shirley enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a big fan of Paul Newman and Tom Selleck. But she was an even bigger fan of the color PURPLE! Special thanks go out to Karen from Bayada Home Health Care; to the folks at Reading Rehab in Spring Township, especially Katie and Evan (Shirley's inspiration!); and all the nurses on N2 South at the Reading Hospital. "Thank you all for taking such good care of my Mom." Shirley never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was the best Mom and best Friend in the world to Mary, who will miss her terribly. She is now reunited with her own Mother and Daddy, with her husband Lou, whom she cared for during his 10-year illness, with her pet dogs Bohunk, King, Hildy, and Max, and also with Spike the cockatiel. She is free of pain and suffering at last and those pretty blue eyes are sparkling once again. Memorial services for Shirley will be held next Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 9:30 to 11:00 am.
